Burger King was criticised today with a  tweet about International Women's Day, after it was branded 'shameful' by social media followers.

Burger King UK tweeted: "Women belong in the kitchen."

He clarified in a later tweet: "If they wish, of course. Yet only 20% of chefs are women. Our mission is to change the gender relationship in the catering industry by giving female employees the opportunity to pursue a culinary career."
